Established in 1980, with Acad. Prof. Dr. Ana Aslan as first editor, The Romanian Journal of Gerontology and Geriatrics main purpose was to be an opinion leader in promoting this complex and interdisciplinary field in the medical environment in our country, and in the same time, to establish an exchange of ideas with the scientific world abroad.
Through its actual presentation, the Journal of the Romanian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics makes known, once more, the structure and the fields of activity and research of gerontology and geriatrics in our country. It is addressed to researchers, clinicians, residents and medicine students.
The principal purpose of the Romanian Journal of Gerontology and Geriatrics is to include in its pages the most significant studies, as well as reviews, various aspects of clinical geriatrics, biology of aging, behavioral and social sciences of gerontology.
We shall promote editorials on the main topics, as well as the presentation of clinical, basic, medico-social conferences or communications at various scientific events, or general papers regarding important matters in geriatrics and gerontology.
We look forward that the Romanian Journal of Gerontology and Geriatrics will consolidate its position in the national and international scientific world.
